Answer» Hello everyone, My daughter's HP dv6800 laptop keeps freezing at various times during usage (it's running Windows Vista). Mostly, it's when she's on the internet. Could it be registry issues? Any suggestions? Is there a GOOD free registry cleanup software that someone could recommend? Thanks Do NOT use ANY registry cleaner - they cause more problems than they ....... well, actually they don't "fix" anything. They just cause problems.
No it is not a registry problem. Boot to safe MODE - does the SYSTEM freeze in safe mode?I will try in safe mode this WEEKEND. Can you go on the internet safely on safe mode? BTW, it's actually an HP dv6000 not 6800. ThanksHello everyone, I wrote to HP's SUPPORT and their response actually helped. All I did was update the network adapter (NVIDIA nForce networking controller) under Device Manager and have had no problem; laptop stays online without freezing!
