Answer» Anyone know where i can find detailed instructions on the disassembling of an HP g7 to remove and clean the cooling system fan?
i have an HP Pavilion g7 1279dx that is getting too hot. I have used the CANNED air and i honestly don't NOTICE a difference in performance. It only takes a few minutes for a cooling system error message to display after i begin USING it. I would like to remove the case cover and clean (or replace) the laptop fan. I have failed in my search on the HP.com website to locate instructions on how to open and disassemble my laptop/remove and replace the cooling fan. It would not be my first time doing this procedure, but it will be my first time performing it on an HP g7 1279dx. thanks in advance.... kianmeI believe this is what you'll need... http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02720306/c02720306.pdfDo you hear the fan revving up when its hot? Have you opened Task Manager to SEE whether CPU usage is running high when the overheating occurs? If so, could you identify processes that are CAUSING the high CPU usage?
