Answer» I currently have an e-machines PC running Windows XP. I just got a new PC that is a Dell Inspiron running Windows 7. I want to be ABLE to keep alot of the programs that I currently have. Is it possible to put all the things I want to keep on a flash drive, then put them on the new pc? Or put them on a separate hard drive then put them on the new pc? Thanks for any help. You can copy and transfer FILES, but all programs will need to be installed from scratch.Just write down all the programs you want to keep on a piece of paper, then re-download them on your new computer.depending on what you mean by 'programs' and what their SIZE is; most programs like Microsoft word, Skype, Daemon Tools or uTorrent can be re-downloaded in a matter of minutes. But to answer your question, yes, you can store them on a flash drive ASSUMING they fit. Just be sure to store the setup/installer files. If you want to keep the projects that you have been working on then you may also save those and CARRY them over on your flashdrive.
