There are two popular ways to use your TV as a slide show when you are tired of re runs of Bones.Or House.
A. Most obvious for advanced users is to burn a slideshow on a DVD.

B. Easy way for the average user is to just LOAD a USB STICK and show photos a TV or player that TAKES a USB stick. Watch this video

It depends on who it's for or how fancy i want it to be. If I want to make a slideshow with effects, I'd make a DVD. If the point is just to show a bunch of pictures, I'd use a flash drive, SD card, or a DVD if the target TV didn't have support for those or I didn't KNOW what I'd be showing on.
If this was for playback on a PC (yeah I know it's about TVs), I'd personally use either whatever default picture VIEWER is in use or something like movie maker if i wanted effects/transitions.
