Answer» Hello, everyone.
I'm interested in making a Linux distro, and have already used remastersys to make an .iso. I have the system configured the way that I like it, but before deciding to PUBLISH the distro, what source needs to go with it per the GPL (it mentions source go with the binaries)?
Is it like?:
1. New files only (if I build stuff on the respun Mint/Ubuntu) I can distribute source & runnable stuff 2. Or the whole Linux (everything--this would be long and tedious) 3. Or can I borrow from Mint's source list? 4. Or something in between?
As you can see, I'm rather confused here and need help on it. ANY responses would be **HIGHLY** appreciated. Thanks. Replying to my own post to answer this question for ANYONE else who might have it. APPARENTLY, source applicable to the distribution needs to be included with the distro so that it is truly "open source" and OTHERS can look at it. So, basically, in order to build one, source does indeed need to be included.
