Answer» The other day I wanted to get an e-mail ACCOUNT for my wife. I wanted something easy to remember and free. I thought I could try Lycos. I found a good name I could use with no numbers, so I went ahead and applied. What did I do wrong? It asked for here cell phone number and then asked for the PIN received. So,I celled her, explained what I was doing, she gave me the PIN. It was refused. So, I tried again. Again the new PIN was rejected also. Now I am mystified. I have no idea of what happened. My question is, Has anybody lately registered with Lycos for a free e-mail? Did it work for you? What did I miss?
.Typing errors ? ? Capslock on/off ? ?I just created an account with them. The text message they SEND is CONFUSING. The first THING I saw in it was a number, which I assumed was the PIN. I tried it and it did not work. I then discovered that the number shown on my cell phone screen was just a number identifying their message; it was not the actual PIN. To view the full message, which includes some text with the PIN at the end, you need to proceed into the body of the text message. Try that; it should work for you. soybean, Thank you. I will that I SEE it now.
