Solve : How to connect to Mozilla Foxfire? |
|
Answer» Because my Internet Explorer has been hijacked, I down loaded the new Mozilla Foxfire browser. It seemed to work - favorites got transferred and I was able to move around the web. Subsequently, after establishing my DSL connection to EarthLink, I click on the Foxfire desktop shortcut (previously, I would click on the IE icon) and the connection is denied. The message is that my proxy server settings are not correct. Earthlink so far has refused to help saying that it does not support Mozilla. Any ideas as to what to do?youll have to reinstall the mozilla firefox... although mozilla firefox doesnt have all the features that IE have.. i suggest you downlowd Internet Explorer 6.0 in the internet... that would be better... anyways its free. =) Quote although mozilla firefox doesnt have all the features that IE have Sorry cleo1983 but I think that if you actually used it you would take all that back. I don't think you'll find popup blocking, tabbed browsing or support for RSS feeds (to name but a few) in IE... Anyway, you have two options here awstokes, the choice of which is really down to whether or not you like Firefox (not Foxfire, by the way ) better than IE. To sort out Firefox, you really should do as it says. If the error is saying that there is a problem with the proxy settings, then the odds are that this is what you'll have to sort. Go into Tools > Options and click on the General tab on the right. There will be a button NEARING the bottom which says "Connection Settings" - click it and make sure these setting tally up with how Earthlink/You need it SET up. If you prefer IE (why?) then I'd recommend you get a spyware SCANNER. Search Google for either "Ad-Aware" or "Spybot - Search & DESTROY" and you'll find a decent freebie. |
