Answer» Hay guys and gals here is another poll how much did your first computer cost mine was free99. My laptop was about €1,400 which is about $1,860.Mine Cost a little over $1,500.00 back in 1996.The first computer my family owned was £50, back in 1996. The first computer I owned, which I saved up for over 2 years, was around £1500 (my laptop).Got my Dell Optiplex GX150 for free(some school program)
But now my Optiplex GX270(just the tower) was $280my 286, 386, 486, pentium, k6-2, Pentium 133 Mhz laptop, and thinkpad (75Mhz) were all given to me by my computer science teacher back in HIGH school.

You lucky actually- I don't think he gave me the 286, I found that in a closet The first one I BOUGHT the kids was a Tandy from Radio Shack. $1200 and it was pretty much worthless. This old Gateway that I re inherited after the kids were grown was a little over $2000 back in 98.
