Solve : How can I get the full drive size back after repartitioning??

Answer»

Hello

First off all I want to apologize for me being so inactive lately.
But because of my studies, and because I started gaming I don't have much time left.

Edit: Example for who likes to see what I can do on COD4 on PS3

So here is my question:
How can I get the full drive size back after repartitioning?
I've search the web for a solution but they come with the Linux CD, as far as I know you can only use that to repartition your drive into smaller PIECES. Or am I wrong?
Well basicly the problem is, when I first got my Laptop, I partitioned it into 3 drives 2 of 25GB and 1 of 30GB. 30GB for C drive was enough at that time for me, but now that I'm having biger PROGS like adobe premiere elements and stuff, I need to create a new folder in D to store program files there.
And now that I'm reformatting my PC to get a fresh start (as its getting too slow for me)
I THOUGHT it would be the perfect time to fix this.
Maybe it gets removed when you reformat it properly? Because I use my CD I got with my laptop to reformat it and then it doesn't fix it.

Does anyone know how to get rip of the crappy partitioning?

Thanks in advance

Jonas When you boot from your OS cd do you not get the options to delete partitions?

nope
But do I get it when I do a different format? and how can I do a different format if that will help?

Thanks in advance

Jonas You could try GParted. It is a free partition editor.
It has a LiveCD version which has always worked well for me.
It can create, delete, shrink, expand, move, and copy partitions.Thnx but when I download it, I get losts of files and I dno what to do there is no installer?? It's really strange

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Most UNUSUAL. Is your install CD the genuine article?

Easeus Partition Manager from http://www.partition-tool.com/ has the capability of deleting/creating/merging partitions.

Edit: This assumes that you still have access to an Operating System on your laptop. If you have already formatted the system partition on the laptop you will be unable to install Easus. The partition editor that Dusty RECOMMENDED might be easier for you. It can be installed in Windows.

The version of GParted I use runs like on a Linux Live CD which means it does not need to be installed and it is independent of Windows.
If you are still interested in GParted, did you download the LiveCD version? Its file name is "gparted-live-0.3.9-13.iso" and it can be downloaded from here.Yes it is a legimit version, but it's a mix of windows and toshiba stuff all on 1 CD.
I'll try the stuff you recoment when I'm home, and I haven't formatted yet, I'll do that after the exams.Good to see you again Jonas...
