Answer» MIT-Trained Rocket Scientist Develops Comfortable HIGH Heels
Thursday , February 08, 2007
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A FIRM is claiming a footwear breakthrough — comfortable high heels.
And it only took an MIT-trained rocket scientist to get that done.
The so-called Insolia technology, developed by a team of researchers including Brian Hughes, a rocket scientist with a degree from MIT, shifts the body's weight off the ball of the foot by changing the inside of the shoe.
The Salem, N.H., company HBN Shore LLC is now SELLING weight shifting inserts in CVS stores.
The company says it reduces forefoot and toe pressures and improves ankle stability.
Hughes is also a podiatrist.
