I have been trying to install Nero, and other softwhere for that matter. every time i click the install exe i get this message..... c\docume~1\phil\locals~1\temp\.A temporary file needed for intialization could not be created or could not be written to. Make sure that the directory path exists, and disc space is available. I have loads of space and the "locals\temp" files exist. I have looked on the net for answers till i am blue in the face, then i found your forum. Any help would be most aprecated, thanks in advance. Where did you get the Nero install package from? And whens the last time you emptied your Temp folder ? ? Matter of fact ...how much free space is on this HARD drive ? ? Afternoon Salmon...Also are you a adminstrator on the MACHINE? There are a whole load of free burning apps out there, Google is your friend, here's one that says it can create DVD-video discs. Nero actually offer a free version called "Nero 9 Lite" which can only copy or burn data disks. http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nero9-free.php I didn't know that..... I still wouldn't use nero. I never really liked it and found it had to much over head for a CD burning software.

Nero actually offer a free version called "Nero 9 Lite" which can only copy or burn data disks.

I didn't know that.....

I still wouldn't use nero. I never really liked it and found it had to much over head for a CD burning software.
