Hello I hope someone can help me,about a week ago I turned on my computer and it started up like normal. Then EVERYTHING on my desktop dissapeared, but came right back and all was ok. Then the next time I shut down it did it again but it did it a COUPLE times before it would stay. Now today it dissapeared and just won't come back.It is there for a second which gave me enough time to click on the internet and get here, but everything is gone again.I did a AVG scan and it had to trojans but were taken care of.I can do nothing but do alt ctrl del to shut down and restart. Everything SEEMS to be working once I get into it,but thats not very easy either. CAN anyone help me .....

Thanks ShelleyShelley,

When you say everything is disappearing is it the icons and the start bar and everything else disappearing leaving your desktop empty? Or is your screen going black as if someone is turning off the monitor?

Also I assume this is Windows XP am I correct?Hi

I am sorry yes it is XP and when I say it dissapears I mean everything, Icons start bar tool bar,but it does not go black it just leaves a desktop picture that I had on it.Nothing else. I have got it to stay on this time again finally and as long as I don't shut down I THINK it will be ok.It is only when I shut down that it HAPPENS on restart. Thanks for the reply

ShelleyHuh that is an interesting issue. Because I'm not familiar with the issue I did some searching and did happen to come across a page with several solutions that should help you. Try the recommendations on the below link.

http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/85915.htmlThank you I will Hi

I did look at that page and I do believe thats what I had,but had already fixed it. I had downloaded Spybot Search and destroy and I am sure that one of the files were what they mention. Plus my computer is working good now that I did that. I really appreciate all your help and time. If you hear of this again maybe it will help someone else.

Have a great day
ShelleyGood to hear you were able to fix it and thanks for the follow up.
