Answer» I'm running WINDOWS XP (home EDITION) and I am having problems installing educational software games for my children. I get a reading stating: 16 Bit windows subsystem, C:\\windows\system32\auto exec.nt Error message reading: the system file is not suitable for running MS DOS and Microsoft Windows
Can anyone HELP? or direct me?
Thanks Your autoexec.nt file MAY be corrupt. You can retrieve a copy from the repair directory. Run from a command window (DOS) copy C:\windows\repair\autoexec.nt C:\windows\system32 Is it a 16 Bit subsystem error?
It's a popular XP fault (surprisingly!).
