Answer» I need help please. I have a photo I want to resize so I can use it as an avatar on a couple of message boards. I have read EVERYTHING I can find and tried everything I know but can not seem to get the photo small enough for using as an avatar. One of the places where I want to use it says it can not be any bigger than 90 x 90 pixels and no larger than 50 KB. IF anyone can help me I would be willing to send the pic to you to resize for me. Thank you.I can help you, just PM me and send the pic!Or wait for Soybean to find you! That's what you think. I am somewhat computer illiterate even though I seem to know quite a bit more than some folks! Make sense? I FIGURED out where to PM Mr. Google but I don't know if he will get the pic. It's on photobucket and I copy & pasted from there. These neat little message board thingy's don't give you much in the way of instructions plus if they did, I probably wouldn't understand.
Thanks for responding!Just press the browse button underneath a new message and find the file you want to upload.
Or just wait for Soybean to find you. I've got a feeling that he will be along.. Shortly..
Everyone! Ready the harpoon gun!Ok - thanks for the help. This is the pic I need resized. Hope this works. See, I can usually do it, I just don't have enough sense to know how on my own! :exclamation You want that resized to 90x90? I thought you said a forum avatar.
By the way, is it just me, or is that guy absolutely humongous? There are limits to how small an image can get and still be viewable as well as how LARGE you can make an image and still be viewable...
patio. 8-)Seriously, though, that guy is absolutely huge!
This is what the picture looks like at 90x90:
Nice Job...clearer than i thought. Thanks for trying to help. I guess I scared Mr. Google off! This guy is not humongous at all. It's Ernie Haase and he is the lead singer in a southern gospel quartet that is probably one of the BEST know groups in the USA. His group is Signature Sound and they perform alot with Bill Gaither at the famour Gaither Homecomings. Is is tall though. 6'4" or 6'5" I believe. One of the sweetest men around. You all should listen to some of their music. You'll be hooked if you do. I attaching a non-promotional pic of the group so you can get an idea. Three of them (one is the piano player) are very tall. This group is very energetic. I kept messing around and managed to get a resize that works on their site. What do you think?
Don't know how to do 2 pics on one post so here is the group!Ah, you got it right!
You should try "Irfanview" which is a very nice program to resize and resample pictures.Nah, you didn't scare me off, I was just gone for a while!Well, I did not have much time to visit the forum YESTERDAY and the day before and missed this topic. flashygram, that last image you posted, the 70x65 pixel one, is fairly good. Anyway, I'll go ahead and post two versions/sizes: 90x83 pixels, and 70x65 pixels. I think you might find my 70x65 a little clearer than yours, or maybe there's no noticeable difference. See what you think. Here they are:

I did not create a 90x90 as you requested because that dimension changes the aspect ratio, the ratio of height/width, from the original and this tends to degrade image quality. So, 90x83 has the same aspect ratio as the original, and so does 70x65.
