Answer» why is my mic jack detecting sound that is not there? if any one could help i would apriciate it alot email me on [emailprotected] or reply here thanksI will require more information in order to help you. Which operating system are you using? When did this start? Have you made any chnges to your system recently? What kinds of noises are you HEARING?
FlameThere is ALWAYS "sound" PRESENT in any electrical circuitry. It's produced by electrical "noise" emanating energy within the frequencies of the audio range. It's the bane of the audio electronic designers life.
You need to check the gain for your MIC input and perhaps disable any other inputs. To hear that electricity, you must have your speakers turned up high though...
FlameNot necessarily Flame. It's easy to form an audio frequency loop where there's a noisy input and "cheap" amplifier concerned. The analogue CD ROM cables may be worth looking at too. Either re-route them or better still, remove them altogether.could it be that there is something stucik in my mic jack? What sort of sound is being produced? If it's a buzzing or hissing, turn down the mic gain.there is no sound any more but every time i click mic mute and un mute it makes a loud click and when i have music on the sound goes like it is under water but only when the mic is unmuted when the mic is MUTED again the music is clearYour gain is too high. Double click the Systray speaker icon and select Options>Properties>Recording. ADJUST the mic gain down and OK it.There is a possibility that the OP has a problem that has been resolved by a later release of the drivers for the soundcard. Check the soundcard manufacturer's web site.do you know what website the drivers could be on the soundcard is a "Realtek AC97" and it is built in thanks
