Answer» I have a HP Pavillion 553x 5-year old desktop that was struck by lightening. I bought a Power Supply and hooked it up and it now turns on; however, nothing comes on the monitor -- the monitor light stays orange. When I UNPLUG the monitor, a blue window appears saying "check monitor connections". When I plug the monitor back in, the window DISAPPEARS and the orange light comes back on. I have tried 3 monitors and the same thing happens. I've been told the motherboard is bad. Can it be anything else besides the motherboard? If not, where can I find a P4G533-LA ASUS motherboard? Thanks!Wait a minute: Are you GOING to CHANGE each part? Because I have got a lightning to and there was nothing useful after it got hit. And with Nothing I mean NOTHING. It could be an other story in you're case but I just wanted to warn you.
Jonas Jonas: I had not planned on changing each part. I just thought if the motherboard was fried, I could possibly REPLACE it and be back up and running. **Bear with me -- I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff.**
