was using CPU all moring and then got off for about an hour. when i came back it was off and now it WONT come back on...... What could have happened??? I didn't loose power during this time... Any ideas on how this can be fixed...

The power outlet is good
the power supply has a green light lit on the back STILL
no fans or anything but the one light

Dont really want to jump out and BUY a new M/B if that wont fix it
Any ideas would be great Sounds like the power supply is dead.hang on the power supply fan works doesent it. you had a green light.

if so try unpluging the drives and remove memory.
replace memory. check connections to motherboard and try and boot to the bios at lest.

if this works connect a drive and try and boot.

some times it only take one peace of faulty hard ware for the whole thing to fail.
for instance i have a doge ipod that if plugged in to the usb stop the machine booting. just overload protection circuitry cutting in to save the machine.Just cause it has a green light and the fan WORKES doesnt mean the psu is still good. Dont replace the ram and dont remove all of the ram either.
