MeYou should format the Hard Disk DRIVE before installing Windows.

Overwriting Windows isn't a very good idea.

Install a Firewall, virus and spyware scanner next time you have installed Windows to prevent a lot of problems from ever occuring.have you tried safe mode f8key on boot...sounds like explorer has become corupted...disconnect for the net.and run this command in msdos prompt scandisk...and scan for bugs...are you using ie6?No, I'm still running 5.5.
That's another thing that won't respond, F8 or ctrl, so I can't EVEN get to safe mode.ok we may have go the hard way....load your winme boot floppy disk....at the A:\ type cd windows enter..this will bring you to the C:\ after it type scanreg/restore...and when answered by screen prompts answer YES to all...just chose the last good cabfile.. what is the make of your PC and does it is come with recovery disks?and did you update it....ARH yes bad move..running ie6 and wmp9/10 the lastest of the mkiller .upworst programs to solve all pass!.....sp1/2/3/4/5...stop here comes mircrosoft longhorn<blackcombe/ alfa or just bill named after the ski place in canada...whoops thats furturistic...
