Answer» My daughter is taking summer classes at a local University i don't know diddly about COMPUTERS she said hers wont work so i need a quick fix. First my budget is around $600 if your daughter was in need of a laptop where and which one would you buy??? I need to know brand and model and who sells them. This is for real Thanks DADI said the same things to my mom few years ago and got myself an awesome computer for gaming =)
I THINK this is a good deal http://www.atic.ca/index.php?page=LongDesc&sku=44391 not sure if they do shipping.Based on the price you quoted us...you're limited to what you can purchase...
While kebber's recommendation is a good one...as far as the price goes...and Toshiba's are dependable...I'd tend to stay away from the Celeron processors...and see what you can find from Dell, Gateway, or HP for that matter.
I'd look into a system offering at least a Pentium 4 processor...or Dual Core (great for multitasking).
Most base notebooks will suffice...but you may want to add a good Office software suite...she'll probably need it in school.
Take a look at these:
Gateway
Dell
HP
Without GOING into too many specifics...I'd tend to go with a Gateway...or HP...Dell's notebooks are dependable, but their support isn't really up to snuff.
I think a good base system...with an OPTION to include a good Office Suite will SUIT her needs just fine.
