Answer» Heres my DILEMMA. I got Windows 8 a window keeps popping up to free upgrade to Windows 8.1, before it give the option to be reminded later, and I allways clicked remind me later. Now the option is, install 1,2,3,4 hours. I researched it on Google, with little luck. My first option, go to. (1) group policy editor ( gpedit.msc ) when I hit enter, a BOX appears, says windows cant find. (2) regedit says go to HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE click Windows Store, theres no Windows Store option at this location. I don't like to MESS in regedit at all, my computer skills are AVERAGE. My goal is to stick with Windows 8 and never go to 8.1, is there away to disable 8.1 offer free and easy ? Thanks, Chuck Like I say my computer skills are average at best.Upgrade to 8.1. There's a reason the OS has been patched - always install the latest version.Sure thing... Ignore the update and muck around with gpedit and regedit and wonk your Win 8 installl... Or let it update...your choice.
