Solve : have a BSOD, help???

Answer»

I have quite a few things on my computer, which by the way is a DELL latitude running win XP.  Nowadays, when I turn it on, I see a BSOD, and Im not able to get to the desktop screen.  How do I fix this?
the 1st THING to do is to unhook anything that’s not essential like printers, flash drives etc. and then check all drives for CD's and FLOPPIES and remove them. Then try a boot into safe mode. If that is unsuccessful then you may need to try a recovery with the windows CD.  Insert the CD into the computer and restart it, if your lucky it may boot to the cd and allow you to repair/recover the install of windows. Follow the prompts.  Good Luckrestart your PC and click f8.. and when you see a much of options like, SAFEMODE, safemode with networking, ect.

click on last known configuration and if the BSOD happens again let us know what it is!
