Answer»

Morning all my problem is i had a genuine copy of windows7 on my computer but had a problem with two usb ports on front.
i took it back to the shop and they fixed it,but the motherboard was faulty so they changed it.now when i turn on my computer it tells me my copy of windows 7 is not genuine it tells me to activate it with my key but when i put it in it say's
you can't use this key on this computer. any suggstions.

thank you. Some info: Description of the Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications application. I believe the basic issue here is that the change of motherboard is making Windows think it has been INSTALLED on a different computer, which would be a violation of the software license agreement for an OEM version of Windows. So, you'll need to resolve this with Microsoft. I believe this can be done by telephone but I don't know the number. I believe it MAY appear somewhere if you run through the Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474) provided on the link I posted.

If you can wait awhile longer, patio may see this and post. I believe he KNOWS the PHONE number to contact at Microsoft. As Soybean ASKS...so shall he recieve...
