You have to choose the format in the scanner software when you scan the document and save it to hd.When you scan a document all you will get is a picture of the document. I believe you need a program that probably CAME with your scanner called OCR; Optical character recognition.In the old days that was correct Dave. Current scanners (and their software) give you the option to save the scanned documents to .PDF files which in turn can be converted to .doc files.The OCR option program should be in the HP software for this scanner. Let me know if you can not find any image to text in the HP software. If not, it may take an extra step to get it into the Word format. LOL - for the most part, me too You're right - but for one shot conversions you can always use a trial version. I use Nitro Pro (not CHEAP) and it is great - but I can charge back to business. |
