Answer» when i try to format my C: DRIVE to reinstall windows first i get message "partition is in use by another application do you wish to force a dismount" when i select yes i get "drive cannot be locked" how can i fix this?How are you trying to format?Do you have any DAEMON TOOLS or CD emulators installed on this machine ? ?You cannot format C: from within Windows...you'll need to either use a boot floppy or the installation CD of whatever you are putting on there to do so...If you WANT to reinstall windows, you don't have to format it on your own. Use the Windows CD to do it for you.You pretty much put it in CD drive, restart the computer and boot FROM the CD.
