Answer» when i boot with the disk and start the instalation for windows, it says i dont have any hard disk drives installed, but i have windows 98 on it now? how can it say i dont have a hard drive when i CLEARLY am running windows 98? i have downloaded the drivers and put them on a cd, but it wont let me install any of the drivers or even winzip for example. ALSO, did you Boot from the CD, not OPENING the CD inside Windows?i used my desktop to put drivers on the cd, and im booting from the windows xp op cd, not the driver cd.the problem is with the computer not detecting the hard drive, from reading around i think i need some sata or raid drivers for the install, problem is then it asks for floppies when i am in the install. i have a laptop with no floppy drive and i am still missing this driver, please bare with me i am not real smart when it comes to COMPUTERS, im TRYING to get this working for school without having to spend money i dont have. the hard drive im using is a Western Digital model num WD1600BEVS-22UST0 not sure if that helps, but if you could just walk me through so i can get win xp installed would be awsome thanks!You can try this approach: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Install-Windows-XP-On-SATA-Without-a-Floppy-F6-47807.shtml |
