Hello, I am trying to recover lost pictures on my hard drive. I had overwritten the previous xp edition. Any ideas?hmm...you can do the all around search,
go to c:\ and hold down CTRL + F
press all files and folders
type in what ever you want to find(.jpg .png etc)

What EXACTLY did you do?Yes, what EXACTLY did you do? And if you want to be ABLE to recover the pictures, don't do anything with that computer. Leave it turned off, use another computer to reply and to surf the web.
The longer the computer is running, the lower your chances of RECOVERY because the files COULD be overwritten.
This is ASSUMING you formatted and/or repartitioned the hard drive.....
