Answer» Okay--I am sure this is a quite basic question for some but that's okay--I'm willing to admit that I am not a computer EXPERT! I wasn't sure where to post this question so I am posting it here in "Other."
If the History of viewed websites has been cleared through the Tools and Internet Options MENU (I use IE on XP) is there another way to still view previously viewed webpages or any information that might possibly give information of where someone has been going on the Internet? I'll be honest here...I am attempting to view where my young son has been going on the Internet as I have some SUSPICIONS but I don't right now have any type of software that tracks his usage. There may be cookies from certain sites... But if he's aware enough to delete the browsing history, I'm willing to bet he's removed any trace of where he's been
You could also get monitoring software, which once installed will e-mail reports to you of what a user has been browsing. EBlaster is one I've heard of, but never used this, or any other, monitoring program.
Someone ELSE may be able to suggest a free program though, as I don't know the best value or the best programs that are out there...Check the drop down box, he may not have cleared that. If you're concerned, though, you should just talk to him. Monitoring him without his consent defeats the object and he won't trust you.I agree with Calum. It's important to be open and honest with your son. If you do that, he may be inclined to show you the same courtesy.Communication is the easy way.
What rules were agreed on before this young man started using online service?
You can easily use system restore to an earlier time.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx
You can also discontinue internet service.
You see,I believe Internet service and mobile phones is a privilage, not a right.I totally agree with street 1 it is a privelige not a right to have mobile phones and internet. same as driver`s license.
