Answer» I have 4 different hard drives worth of stuff on my computer. From getting new, bigger hard drives and such. I drop and dragged and saved everything to my big hard drive..
Thus I have duplicates of all kinds of stuff including genealogy files. How can I FIND the duplicates and put everything together, in order and GET rid of the duplicates, triplicates?
Thanks in advance.. You could USE a PROG called foldermatch www.foldermatch.com
otherwise search in explorer for files of a certain type, then sort to find dupes *.mdb for exampleHello Jan, You could try ToniArts EasyCleaner, which is free. BUT make sure that you DON'T remove ANY duplicate system files as 99.99% ARE usually needed by the Operating System.
Some zero length files (0 bytes) may also be required so don't remove any if you don't know what they are.
I would stick ONLY to the document file duplicates.
