I have Microsoft Office 2000 Professional.
I have a few spread sheets from excel stored on a disk, all of them opens except one (the one I NEED of course) this is the message I receive.
Mylogs.xls cannot be accessed. The file MAY be read only, or you may be trying to access a read only location, or the server the document is stored on may not be responding.
I just opened it yesterday and everything was working fine.
Can someone please help
Thanks  Did you check the attributes of the file (right click on it and choose properties)?  Is it in fact set to "Read Only"?Yes, I checked the attributes and the ARCHIVE box is checked.see if a re-boot helps.......hold down the f8 key and CHOSE the last good config option..........and did you save this file as Mylogs.xls  worth a check!Not sure what you are saying, Do I go to the A: Drive & Highlite that file and then hold down the F8 key I take it that you have this file on a floppy disk[A drive?]
if so open with......chose program.....the f8 key does not function in windows only on boot-up;)MissCK,

NAVIGATE to the excel file, right click, properties and uncheck the read only.  Usually Office files are read only if you copied it from CDROM or floppy disk.

Another thing you should check, goto advance and permission and make sure you have full access not just read only. I meant Advance then security and make sure you have full permission
