Solve : File Association has been altered on my computer? |
|
Answer» Following a recent Win !0 update, I have lost the ability to do a left mouse click on a file to open it. I get an error message saying that there is no file association - please see attached. In order to open a file I now have to right click and select 'open' from the drop down menu, which is very time consuming. Any assistance, that is not too technical, would be helpful. Thanks I now have to right click and select 'open' from the drop down menu, which is very time consuming Have you tried to change file association: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=change+file+associations+windows+10AShampoo may very well be the culprit...i never thought MUCH of it myself. Thanks to both Davel.embke & Patio for their suggestions. However the suggestion that I use the Association re-set via Google did not work, as I still have the same problem. I will make more ENQUIRIES. I don't think that Ashampoo caused the problem as I have been using this screen grabber for some time now and it hasn't caused me any problems in the past. The issue CAME to light following a Microsoft Windows 10 Update. Again thank you for your replies. Try Here... |
