Solve : file and setting transfer wizard Win Xp?

Answer»

RAM went bad, corrupted the OS. I could only get all my files/folders setting using the file and setting transferred wizard on safe mode. Backed it on to a Seagate Free agent USB. Read about first and follow instruction on how to for the file and setting wizard. The OS was MS Media, install Win XP Home ed. Now ready to install my files and setting getting error:

The location that you specified does not contain stored information. Please type a valid folder path into the edit box.

If you entered a path to a folder on a removable disk, the disk must be in the drive.

Install XP did all updates. I have not change any setting on the backup files. I can see the files in the storage USB, it has the .dat extension. Can anyone please advise on how to retrieve all my file and setting.
Please adviseBelow is a DEFINTION of a .dat file...

"DAT files (.dat)

DAT files are data files, usually comma delimited, that contain data in ASCII format. These files are able to be open in a variety of programs including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Notepad. "

I've never used the M$ file and TRANSFER wizard so I don't know if the saved files/folders are saved in a .dat format.

Here is an article from M$...
