Answer» I am trying to set up a Dell All-In-One Printer/Fax/Scanner. To install and configure the fax console, the instructions say to click the Fax Services box in the Add/Remove windows components area. When I get to this point, I am instructed to insert the Windows XP PROFESSIONAL CD-Rom. However windows came pre-loaded on my computer and I do not have the CD-Rom. What do I do next?do you have any disks for the fax/scanner...........load that first.........then plug in the .........................fax/scanner......
you will be needed this next i guess>>http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q306657
and theris the dell robot manager>>http://support.ap.dell.com/apjsite/KB/index.aspx after sales service grab the cash and RUN!patricia boyle.....Hopefully this is a new ( or still under waranty ) I would be calling Dell ........... It's up to then to support their STUFF......... You should have a phone number for their "TECH" support ......Call them and DEMAND SERVICE .......then be patient ........regardless of how long they have you on hold ........ When you get hold of them ....ask them which disk .......Your XP Pro is on ....... BTW .... Isn't your all in one ......supposed to function as a stand alone fax machine ............ that means it doesn't require the pc even be connected to it ........you just plug in the telephone line and then push dial and enter the number and it should dial ....connect and send......if you wish to setup the printer and or the scanner it must be connected to the pc ...........
What is the model number of the all in one ?
dl65
If you are lucky, the Dell tech will come to this forum to ask for an answer. Saves time and money. Chances RATHER large that this will happen.
