Answer» Hi! Can you not simply format the partition you wish to install Windows XP on and scan all the remaining partitions/Hard Disk Drives for viruses? I don't want ot format the partition!! And i think it's a virus. So... i did repair win, and that fixed the problem (I dont'know why i couldn't start winXP setup before) - windows started up. Then i installed AVG and scanned again for viruses. It found one virus (tufik.a) and 9 trojans. Before as i sad Norton found only 1 trojan and 2 adwares, and 1 infeced file (can't rememeber with what). Is this the one http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_1131.htm ? (McAfee) I'm not sure. After i GOT win running, and scanned for viruses with AVG, AVG found Win32/Tufik.A virus and 9 Trojans. I'm still not sure what (or which virus) really happened, so i'll have to be more carefull. Thanks for replying. I get so paranoid about virii that I scan every time I get an update. Time to make another drive image. Quote ... After i got win running, and scanned for viruses with AVG, AVG found Win32/Tufik.A virus and 9 Trojans. ... Air: Please check the spelling of the worm (what you called a virus), as i was unable to find any credible references to in with a google. Also, do you have the names of any of the Trojan Horses? Let us know so we may point you to the proper virus removal tools or instructions on the Web. Regards, Doc |
