Answer» Ok. Last night while being online I was on Facebook off and on. As usual. All of a sudden, when I was back to it last night, it brought up the blue bar across the top, but nothing else. I can see that I have notifications, but it doesn't let me look at them, it doesn't show my newsfeed and it doesn't show my profile. I have tried viewing it in Firefox, Chrome and they didn't work. For a short time today, it did work in I/E, but then it went back to the same thing. I have tried rebooting, I have ran Superantispyware, avast, and spybot. I have cleared cookies and done a system RESTORE. None of those things worked. What should I do now???Good chance to quit Facebook and regain your privacy. They're actually one of the few companies I trust with my information - I don't trust G+. Quote from: Cathy1983km on January 19, 2012, 04:44:13 PM Ok. It sounds more like a virus if it happens on all browsers and even after rolling back. Try Microsoft Security Essentials. Disable other spyware and virus scanners. By the way: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Facebook Never said I trusted Google either. In fact, I do nothing of consequence through Google. I don't use any SOCIAL media other than this forum and metacritic. Which couldn't really be considered social media as neither of them want to violate my privacy like an overly eager American airport security guard. The CIA and "Homeland Security," the actual operators behind Facebook already has stored everything posted to every account and deleting it does not remove the records (check their TOS). How do you think Homeland Security gets facial recognition on people with no criminal record?? I hope they try to recognize me with my three accounts, managed through a VPN and with nothing but fictitious information and BORROWED photos of celebs (and nobody's), birds and animals in the profile. Good luck with that.... I use them for the same purpose as "law enforcement" - research, tracing deadbeat dads, loan skips and other nefarious entities. How naive people are to think that all that personal information isn't being collected and stored and USED. I've helped trace over 100 fugitives and put them where they belong with Facebook & MySpace! G+ is rapidly becoming my third source. All this, and I do this only as a fun hobby sideline to my "day job!" It all started with tracking down my deadbeat ex., which took all of 45 minutes to have an address, phone number, employer and GPS location!! FYI - A fool and their privacy are soon parted!! I do have a face book account but I guarantee everything on it is there because I put it there and I could care less if any one knows it. All my "Private" stuff doesn't go on any social media but if I was to put it in there it would be my fault and not the sites fault for displaying it. It is like that time a lot of people were outraged that face book would show their HOME phone number when they were the ones that put it on the site and then had it to where any one can access their information. |
