Solve : European connections? |
|
Answer» I recently moved to Vienna austria. I want to connect my computer here but am concerned. My CPU has a 220 switch which I can DEAL with. However, the periferals don't. I was thinking about RUNNING them through my US power strip through a converter/transformer, but I heard that MIGHT not work due to frequency modulation. Any ideas. I do not want to fry my monitor.I think you you have been misinformed. If your PSU is switchable and accepts the 230V input, it is designed to work also at 50HZ. Incidentally, power does not have frequency modulation, it simply has frequency. US 115V/60hz and European 230V/50hz is pretty MUCH standard for switching PSU. Frequency modulation is radio and is what is used in the FM radio band and the sound portion of most over the air TV broadcasts. The monitor is a different story unless it is designed for the higher voltage. |
