I keep getting the same error everytime i DOWNLOAD files from the internet.. i did what the error message said which was get a new dll so i did and extracted the files into system32s correct folder which was (SHELL ) in system .... the file im downloading at present is extremely important its so i can optimize my speed while my broadband is upgraded without it im doomed to a a low speed... its not just that in general any error is bad i would like it if SOMEONE could lend a helping hand in fixing this error , cheers .

It might not work for your particular problem, but it's a good start.cheers mate doing it now to save getting my post count up i will post a reply in here .... i have tryed downloading the updates at one pont and i got nofing but more errors ... yep just as i thought akk failed again. Every update just failed.If you're using anything like BricoPack or Vista Transformation Pack, that could be causing the problem, so you may want to consider uninstalling it.

I see quite a few people with this problem uninstalling their KB925902 update. You could try the same, but make sure you understand the possible security risks...

Cheers chris Awesome, I'm glad you got it sorted out. But I'm a bit confused...you used the Genuine Windows VALIDATION tool to fix your problem? How did that work?It was just so i could install the update online it required me to validate my windows software so i could download the updates.

I didnt install all the updates only the main one i needed to open the usb optimzer.Ah, alright, gotcha. Well, I'm glad it's working now.you might want to get the other updates to the have important sercurity and bug fixes that can make xp happier
