Registry programs sometimes cause more harm than good.
On top of that you will probably not see a noticeable difference in the machine's performance.

You could DLoad and run CCleaner which comes highly recommended around here.
After that Post back with your system info; symptoms and why you think the registry needs repaired...If you visit some free download sites you can find plenty of free, reliable registry cleaners.  If you have any concerns about safety and reliability, stick with the professional-grade products like Advanced WindowsCare and Glary UTILITIES, which are free for personal use.

Regular registry cleaning is more important than regular defragging, and is essential to the efficiency and good health of your system.  Its value LIES not in reducing the size of the registry - spurious registry entries hardly EVER reach 1% of the total anyway - but in removing useless entries which waste time and resources by directing your system to perform meaningless and possibly even pathological tasks.

For example, you might have been sharing a network printer, which has now been uninstalled.  But there may STILL be entries in your registry relating to the printer drivers.  Since they can't be found, the system will continue searching the network for them until the search protocol times out, which may take a minute or more.  That's a minute more on your boot time, every time you start up.  A good registry cleaner would solve that problem.

Registry cleaning should always be the final step every time you uninstal a piece of software, because nothing else will remove all the registry entries relating to it.
