While trying to get a secondary monitor to work off of my laptop, I accidentally disabled the DEFAULT - now neither monitor is displaying anything after the Windows loading screen. It GOES blank at log-in. Nearly all laptops have a Fn+F key combination function to SWAP between external and laptop display. Check and see what F key your uses.
