Solve : email - can you block owners?? |

Answer» Like many people, I block email addresses and domains to try to reduce the AMOUNT of spam delivered to my email account. I notice that many unwanted emails still get through because the senders regularly CHANGE the domain name. I decided to check one of these domain names and used the 'Whois' site to find 'Whistleresist.net', the latest used by a recurring spammer. It showed that 'customer service' owned 7174 domain names and that the domain had changed name servers 7 times over 2 YEARS. I suspect that this is a company providing easy access to SPAMMERS to different domain names to help them defeat email filtering and allow them to get through. Is there any record of the owner of a domain included in emails? If you could block the owner, you could block a NUMBER of unwanted emails in one go. |
