Solve : email bounces?

Answer»

My boss uses a bulk email service and we get a report of bounces, broken down into hard and soft.

Can someone explain the difference to me? Thanks!A soft BOUNCE is where an email message gets as FAR as the recipient's mail server but is bounced back undelivered for various reasons like recipient's mailbox is full, the server is down or swamped with messages, or the message is too large. A hard bounce is where the message is permanently undeliverable, this could be invalid address, (domain name doesn't EXIST, typos, changed address, etc.) or the recipient's mail server has blocked your server.
Thank you!
