Answer» hi i have a moded xbox but when i try to switch the settings like video settings audio settings network settings etc. it says will not write to eeprom when HDD is locked. what dose that mean how do I disable that.
thanx for the help!your pushing down to the ASM of your XBox and you just voided the warranty on it.
it means that your mod has screwed up the Xbox down to the electronic lvl...the EEPROM is a memory module on the motherboard of the Xbox for HOLDING data probably for the BIOS of the Xbox and you can't disable this.EPROM's cannot be edited.
What XBOX is this anyways? 360 or first gen?Carbon,
EPROM can be edited, its just very hard to do so: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/rom4.htm
and it was an EEPROM, which doesn't need a UV Eraser, its Electronically Eraseable Program Read Only Memory
but still its basically impossible to do this for a hobbyist and is probably BUILT onto the board.Ooh, missed the second 'e'.i just relished the moment of Leet!
but Carbon, was that sarcastic, if so then sorry if i was correcting you... No lol. I was just saying I accidentally forgot the second 'e'. A likely story...pull out the POLYGRAPH!
but in the end, SMF, your Xbox is screwed...
