Answer» G'day. I have an LG 4163b dvd burner and am having problems reading files direct to harddisk from a DVD or CD. I can copy the disks via Nero to an Iso file so the disks are not damaged. Also, the computer locks up and WONT even allow me to Ctl/alt/del to the process menu. I have XP sp2 as my os. The burner is on SECONDARY IDE as slave with a HD on master. The burner will burn OK but has TROUBLE getting to the RATED speed and I see a lot of underruns. Thanks in advance for any help. Optical drives should be on the secondary IDE channel. It may be that your drive is just heading south, HOWEVER.....
