thanks for the help. jatYou may need to take the computer apart but if you know nothing about computer hardware i surgest you take it to the computer repair shop.
And what the *censored* your lost a cd in a computer drive Any surgestion members if u know how to use a screwdriver, u can fix it urself. all u have to do is remember where the cables go after u unplug them (labeling works best), and also u have to remeber how u took it apart. take it apart SLOWLY so that u can see how everything fits so u can put it back together correctly.
just remember the 1 golden rule...NEVER FORCE THE PEICES TOGETHER. if they dont fit nicely together, ur doing something wrong.
P.S. u should only have to remove the outer cover.
P.S.S. i once had a cd blow up in my cd drive, i was playing a GAME and POOF. took the thing apart to find my precious cd in a million pieces. If I am understanding what you are trying to do, then you should be able to just unplug your computer and find a paperclip and thats all you need to fix the problem.
HERES what you do: 1) Unplug computer 2) Find a SMALL hole below your CD ROM drive (see picture) 3) Take a paperclip, straighten it out 4)insert paper clip into the small hole in the CD ROM and push. You may hear a click. 5) You may also need to move the paperclip around until the paperclip is on the tab that needs to be pressed But frequently this removal ruins the drive, if it is not ruined by now anyway.
Sometimes it can slide into the upper covering on the drive case (depending on medel and design).
