Answer» I am using a XP SYSTEM. I have tried 3 different DVD burning programs. I am getting the same result. The program starts, runs for a few minutes the the Monitor blanks out & the computer crashes. This is only with DVDs the CD burning works fine. can anyone HelpWhat type of DVD programs? Did it work before? Are the CD and DVD drive both CONNECTED to the CPU? Have you check for any remarks/status on your optical drives under Device manager? My DVD & CD drives are working fine, I have not received any error messages. the programs are WINX video converter, DVD Flick, Convert X to DVD4. I have the same result with each. Also you could adjust your burning/writing speed of your DVD writer from maximum going medium or lower to test the problem. It might be setting on the CD writer as you mention which is the only drive working or not CAUSING your issue. Or borrow a known good DVD writer for a swap test.
