Solve : Dual Harddrive Windows Booting Possible Question?

Answer»

I know that is possible to make a dual boot, but is there a way to have it on two differnt drives an select which one when it comes up?I don't understand what you're asking.
Do you want a dual boot with each OS on a separate drive? That's easily done, just install the OSes to the drives you want them on.Exatly, but will it work the same? The same as what?Dual bootingInstalling the operating systems to different hard drives is dual booting. Is that the same drive?I'm sorry but I really don't get what you're asking.
Perhaps this will HELP.You said that dual booting is having it on two drives but if you have two os on a single drive its called dual boot but I could be to strong with the one term.Dual booting is having MULTIPLE operating systems installed.
This can be on a single drive, with or without partitions, or on multiple drives.
Does that help?Thought I was being to strong with the word. So just have two master drives? One will be a sata the other are IDEI don't know what jumper settings will work for you but I usually have my drives as master, obviously on different channels.
See what works for you though, some drives can be picky.
Out of INTEREST, what operating systems are you planning to dual boot?I was thinking 2k an xp. Can the xp see the drrives connected to 2k then. As long as I say type deal.1 ) FIND out if your BIOS supports SWITCHING boot HDD's
2 ) Post alot more info on what you want to accomplish here.
3 ) Pay attention to any responses you may get so you can achieve the desired results.

For example my testbench machine has 3 HDD's but the BIOS only supports switching to 2 of them.
So on drive1 i have the option to boot to that drive and then have the option to boot to DOS 6.2; Win98SE; WinME and XP.
My 2nd HDD i have the option to boot to HDD2 and then have the choice of Win2KPro; another install of XP; UBUNTU; and Vista.

It takes a bit of effort to setup properly but again we need to know what it is you want to do....Its a biostar p4m80-m4 board I know that, can really get into the BIOS since I need a cpu,ram an sata drive. I just want it to come up saying what to boot too 2k or xp. I will this will take a little work.
