Solve : Dialup superceding Network?

Answer»

I am currently running a wired broadband solution at my house. Lately, after resetting my router settings, I have found that on some of my computers (those that have dialup information on them, should the broadband EVER fail), the software trying to pull info off the net will TRY to establish a dialup connection, as though it was entirely want of a legitimate connection.
This happens less often then not, and infrequently on a computer that I use. The requested information will not load until I cancel the dialup attempt, at which point it loads at proper speed. I have considered removing all dialup information from the afflicted computers, but am hoping that there is a simpler way to go about things. Does anyone have any idea as to how I might resolve this problem without eliminating the aforementioned data?
Thanks. Sorry if this problem has been addressed before. I tried the search function but was probably unable to describe my problem to technical satisfaction.
Windows XP Home on this computer.Disconnect the lan cables from the 56k modem......Control Panel-->Internet Options-->Connections-->tick Never Dial a Connection

Hope this helps. IE>Tools>Internet Options>ConnectionsIs this a race?  Sorta like the lawyer chasing the only AMBULANCE in TOWN http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/serverwiz/ics_serverwiz03.gif
