Solve : Dial-Up Noises?

Answer»

I've got a 56k Dial-Up Modem in my new laptop (well, my new second-hand laptop, rather) and was WONDERING if there's a way to get it to make noises like it would when connecting to the internet back in the day to impress and irritate others.

I mention this here because it seemed inappropriate to clutter the actual help forums with this whim!

Thanks in advance.

Just in case this feels off-topic for this forum, HOWEVER, I'll tell you what laptop I got; a beautiful IBM ThinkPad T43.Do not want to encourage these kind of queries. But in the hope that by assisting you with this one you may either decide to become a helper here on the forums or at least return with more relevant questions. Here is a LINK to the sound simulator you want how you will associate it with some activity on your computer i have no idea. You are on your own for that part.

truenorthWell that's the thing; I didn't actually think this an APPROPRIATE question because I don't actually have a proper technical issue, so decided to post here.

Thanks for the link! You are welcome.truenorthAre you saying this modem is internal on the laptop ? ?Quote from: patio on January 04, 2013, 09:41:59 AM

Are you saying this modem is internal on the laptop ? ?

Yes, it's inside the laptop. I think so, it says it's a 56k dial-up modem...I am afraid you are in for a disapointement.
"Ports: 2 USB 2.0, 1 ExpressCard slot, 1 PCMCIA card slot, 56K Modem, Ethernet LAN port, PS2 port, headphone jack, microphone jack, parallel port, VGA out port "
From the computer specs. What you have is a "port" to which you can connect a 56k modem. The Internet connect ability is via an internal wi=fi card.truenorth
