Solve : Device manager - 2 many Monitors shown?

Answer»

I would appreciate help. I have a sony laptop and on the device manager under monitors, I have 3 of the same monitors listed: Is that okay or should I delete 2 of them?I have a similar situation. My desktop PC shows 4 monitors in Device Manager. I actually have two monitors attached to my computer. I've tried unstalling monitors via Device Manager and they simply reappear upon restarting my computer.

I think they are like generic drivers for different types of monitors, every Windows PC I've EVER used has at least 2, usually more
At the moment I have 5 - 3 default monitors, 1 generic TELEVISION, and 1 plug and play monitor, even though I only use ONE eternal monitor and my laptop screen
I don't think it's a problem thoughIf it wasn't a laptop i would suggest removing all of them and letting it just pick up the true one on re-boot....but remember you didn't hear it from me ...I also thought it might have something to do with the ATi Catalyst drivers, as they show SEVERAL different monitors with settings for each
I also uninstalled the monitors (might've been a stupid idea, but no ill effects so far) and it REINSTALLED them all on the next reboot, so I just leave them alone nowQuote

Same here. There seems to be no negative effects from the extra monitors shown in Device Manager.
