Answer» my desktop icons and taskbar disappeared. I have to hit ctrl/alt/delete and start programs from the task manager now. everything else seems normal. I CANNOT right click on the desktop to get the icons back - I have only my background picture and a mouse pointer on the SCREEN. I tried system restore, but no luck. I searched the data base and saw this problem several times, but never with a SOLUTION. any bonafide gurus out there that can tackle this one?? thanks! Triple post. PLEASE, stay in one thread.
