Solve : Deleted volume driver on accident! please help!!?

Answer»

This is a very huge problem that i created about a couple months ago. I deleted my volume driver on accident. I think i accidently deleted important audio files for the sound driver to work. I've tried reinstalling the audio driver but i couldn't get it to work!. when i do it and restart my computer it popps up blue screen and says something about me not installing the program correctly, or that it is a corrupted audio driver. I really really need help with this, I've tried system restoring, and just do not know what to do anymore! i really need your help please! I think my audio driver is Realtek AC'97 Audio, That's what it says to intall when i search for missing drivers. Also my computer system information is, Microsoft Windows XP version 2002 SP3.Look in device manager. Any errors? Quote from: Allan on January 22, 2011, 07:20:44 AM

Where is the DLoaded driver? idk where its at.Watch for bogus downloads. Make sure you have the real driver. There are a number of bogus sites that claim to have ALCXWDM.SYS

What is the model number of his motherboard?

    * Q1: Could you please ADVICE me which driver I should download for my sound card?
A1: We are a chip supplier, not a motherboard manufacturer. Please read the model number of the AC'97 audio CODEC on your motherboard. The model number starts with "ALC" and a number follows (e.g., ALC201). With the model number, please find out its corresponding drivers at http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=2&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

You have to find out what motherboard you have. The Microsoft tools might not correctly identify it.
Here is a program that does and extreme probe of your system and tells lists of things about it. Free for personal use.
